Meet the Hostess
Hi, I’m Brooke!
I’m a lifelong Alabama girl, serial hostess, small-business owner, collector of pretty things, and firm believer that you don’t need a major occasion to make something feel special.
I founded the Official Apparel Brand of Smith Lake- The Lake Co.- when I was just 12 years old, and more than a decade of entrepreneurship taught me a lot about creativity, community, and the magic that happens when people feel connected. These days, my husband Zac and I call Jasper home, where I’m usually dreaming up my next dinner party, rearranging a tablescape, hunting for antique silver, testing a recipe, or finding an excuse to invite people over.
I have always loved hosting and making things beautiful, but when The Lakeside Life Magazine asked me to be a guest editor and featured one of my dinner parties, thats when I realized that my favorite thing in the world to do was gathering people together and making ordinary moments feel a little more memorable. And if I could make a career of that, I would really feel like I was walking in my calling.
That’s how The Major Hostess came to be!
I believe that your friends deserve to be celebrated, the little things deserve to be enjoyed, and the good china deserves to be used.
